Composition is the organization of ideas put together using different elements like position, similarity, , complexity, etc. The overall use of elements create composition as used in writing, nature, dance, theatre, and visual arts.

Basic Elements of Design:

• Point
• Shape/Form
• Color
• Texture
• Space
• Value

Gestalt means the entire figure/the whole


Gestalt has four aspects:

1. Proximity - distance between parts comprising the image
2. Similarity - holds the form together, creates meaning
3. Continuance - makes your eyes see the larger picture, you follow the form
4. Closure - you see the picture as a whole and not individually
